At a recent private party, Avenue Catering NW Ltd. had the honor of serving Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. Avenue Catering NW Ltd. owner Barbara Atterberry was honored that the hostess of the event had the confidence in the Avenue Catering staff to serve one of the most powerful men in the world.
Though the party was to honor a local contributor’s retirement, the anticipation that the Secretary of Defense would be attending was at the forefront of everyone’s mind. The event was a huge success and the Secretary enjoyed the retirement celebration.
Avenue Catering has served many politicians, celebrities and dignitaries, but this was the greatest honor to date. We were humbled by his presence and appreciative that we were able to share Skagit Valley’s foods with the U. S. Secretary of Defense.
