Rotary District 5050 is pleased to announce their 2012 Group Study Exchange Team that will be traveling to Rotary District 1870 of Germany May 17-June 17, 2012.
The team consists of Team Leader Marie VanDalfsen of Abbotsford, BC (Elementary School Principal), Lindsey J. Dostart of Mount Vernon, WA (Community Education Coordinator at United General Hospital), Cory Ertel of Anacortes, WA (Community Services Manager, Puget Sound Energy), Andrea Johnson of Arlington, WA (DVM, Family Pet Medical in Arlington) and Laura Tilman of Arlington (Teen Librarian, Sno-Isle Libraries).
Through the Group Study Exchange program, teams of professionals exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. During the four-week visit team members share personal knowledge of their own country and experience the customs, vocations, and lifestyles of another. The purpose of a Group Study Exchange is to promote international understanding and good-will through person-to-person contact. While abroad, team members stay in Rotarians’ homes and have the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts. They will also give presentations to Rotary clubs and other groups about their home country.
