    Customer Service/Marketing Assistant (Part-Time)-- Parks & Recreation

    Responsible for creating and updating the Parks and Recreation Department’s promotional materials and performing basic office duties. This position involves an above average amount of customer contact, in-person, by phone, and via email. This position is under the direct supervision of the Parks and Recreation Administrative Specialist. Assigned duties are at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Director.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Knowledge / Abilities Required: • Ability to design and edit website content and other social media sites. • Knowledge of marketing design software and techniques. • Effective project management skills. • Ability to proof read with strong attention to detail. • Possess good organizational skills. • Ability to take initiative, to be a self-starter; work independently, as part of a team and/or with the public. • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to follow complex instructions. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. • Ability to efficiently use computer, calculator, and copy and fax machines. • Ability to learn and operate recreation reservation and registration software. • Ability to correctly interpret and apply the department's policies and procedures. • Ability to communicate courteously and cooperatively with other staff and the general public, on the phone, via email or in person, including handling difficult, uncomfortable, or sensitive situations. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • Two year college degree, equivalent technical school certificate in marketing/advertising, business technology or related fields with at least two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred. • Experience in a Parks and Recreation Department or other municipal setting is advantageous. • Must be at least 21 years of age. • Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license.
