    The Maintenance Technician ensures all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment is kept in Production-ready condition at all times.  Maintenance Technicians are responsible to train less experienced Technicians and always follow all Safety, maintenance, and cleanliness best practices.  They will troubleshoot, perform preventative and corrective maintenance. The work includes both simple and complex operations.
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Perform preventative/predictive/corrective maintenance on all production equipment as required
    • Complete electrical and mechanical projects based on direction given from Maintenance Supervisor/Lead and as required by government regulation
    • Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, and   regulations at all times
    • Initiate and complete all other jobs, projects and special assignments as directed by       Maintenance Supervisor
    • Ensure compliance of all Company policies
    • Maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures to improve health and safety
    • Work within a team environment and interact with all areas of production effectively
    • Repair and replace electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and electronic components such as motors,  contactors, relays, timers, types of switches, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls and valves
    • Maintain production equipment to maximize operating performance and assist with maintaining spare parts’ inventory levels
    • Perform repairs on equipment to restore them to proper and safe working conditions
    • Perform installation, set up, modification and relocation of equipment to accommodate or  improve production requirements
    • Read/write electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, basic hydraulic and pneumatic  diagrams
    • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
    • Ensure production schedule is not jeopardized due to machine break down, or unsafe operating conditions and inform Maintenance Manager about changes
    • Always follow LOCK OUT TAG OUT procedures
    • Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems by filling in required forms and organize workplace to comply with housekeeping requirements.
    • Able to diagnose and replace faulty mechanical and electrical components of machines and equipment.
     
    Education and Experience:
    Required: 
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with strong problem-solving skills 
    Preferred 
    • Possess or working toward Associates degree from a technical college or trade school
    • Military experience in a related subject in lieu of a degree
    • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment with multiple priorities
