• 2019 Spring Session Registration at Skagit Goodwill JTE: March 4-7!

    February 19, 2019
    Hi Folks,
I hope you’re almost done digging yourselves out of the obligatory references to the weather we’ve been having. I also hope that during all the time you spent holed up in your home hiding from the snow, you binge-watched Marie Kondo and found inspiration to pack up all your earthly belongings and donate them to Goodwill. I also hope that as you’re driving your overbrimming-with-stuff SUV to the Goodwill Donation Center near you, you’re reminded to tell the world about spring registration at Skagit County Goodwill Job Training & Education Center.
Here are some handy deets about our registration and upcoming session:
    •   Our registration will run from March 4 through March 7, registrant’s choice of 9:30 am or 1:30 pm starting time (no appointments; please arrive on time)
    •   Our session will run from March 18 through May 9
    •   Most people should budget about 90 minutes for orientation and registration; high-school equivalency registration may take 2-3 hours
    •   We are offering an off-site Computer Basics class at Helping Hands Food Bank (people can register at Goodwill on March 4-7; a Sedro-Woolley registration option is TBD)
    •   We are also offering an ESOL Computer Basics class, appropriate for English Language Learners who are able to score a 210 or higher on CASAS Form 80, which is roughly equivalent to a Goodwill ESOL Level 2 or higher
    •   For job seekers, we have also implemented a new lab to help people get Gmail accounts, which will qualify them to receive employment assistance (no registration required)
Thanks for all you do, and we promise not to pass judgment on your well-loved dog-wool macramé owl lamp shade when you come to donate it.
