• Burlington's Bounty: Our Farming Heritage History Exhibit Opening

    BURLINGTON – The newly formed Burlington Historical Society in partnership with the Burlington Historic Preservation Advisory Commission and the Burlington Chamber of Commerce  and Visitors Information Center are hosting the opening of a new history exhibit, “Burlington’s Bounty: Our Farming Heritage.” The exhibit opens on Saturday, September 7 at 10:30am at the Burlington Visitors Information Center/Chamber of Commerce at 520 E. Fairhaven Avenue.  The focus of the exhibit will be the potato, berry, and dairy industries. Steve Sakuma, Lyle Wesen and local family farmers of the renowned Olympia Marsh area are featured speakers. Did you know in the 1920s Burlington was home to the largest dairy condensary on the West Coast? What changed? What do today's farmers' see as the future of agriculture in our Valley?
