Ambassador Spotlight: Katey Von Hagel of Land Title and Escrow
Born and raised in a small farming community in Eastern Washington Katey learned at a young age the importance of relationship building and being involved in the community she lived in. Katey has carried the passion of building and retaining relationships throughout her adult life where she takes pride in being very active within the community she lives and works in.
Katey attended Eastern Washington University where she was very active in her Sorority and after college took over the role of Housing Board Vice President and House Manager. She is still an active Alumni member of Alpha Phi Sorority.
Living in Anacortes with her husband Justin and their two children Katey is very involved within the local communities. Katey and her family can be found attending and participating in various Anacortes sporting events, hiking the trails around Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom Counties, enjoying time on the lake, traveling, cheering on the Eastern Washington Eagles Football Team and the Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball Team.

Member Spotlight: Melanie Billette of KAPS/KBRC Radio
KAPS 102.1 FM/660AM has been Skagit county’s country radio station for almost fifty years, and the newly-reformatted KBRC 102.9 FM/1430 AM is now Skagit county’s classic rock station after almost eighty years of broadcasting oldies and classic hits.
Along with a wide range of country music, we also broadcast high school sports, Cougars, and Seahawks on KAPS. KBRC also broadcasts high school sports, Huskies, and Mariners (Aside from classic rock ). Our morning announcers, Mike Yeoman and Glen Harris keep Skagit county up to date on news, weather, and local events and are both known for their involvement in the community.
Radio reaches approximately 93% of people at any given time each week. Its effectiveness becomes even stronger when added to a solid and varied media mix. We also utilize Facebook, our websites, Instagram, and e-blasts for additional exposure.
At KAPS/KBRC, from January to March, we offer a customer appreciation package to our current advertisers. We offer the same special to the rest of the businesses as a chance to give us a try, with “2 for 1” ads from January to March. We offer our non-profit businesses “3 for 2” ads for the remainder of the year.
We have sponsorship opportunities for community-related events, contests, news, weather, trivia, and sports. In April and October, we give all of our businesses the opportunity to trade the retail value of items, gifts cards, or services for radio ads.
