June is National Safety Month
The National Safety Council declared June as National Safety Month in 1996, to spread awareness of safety hazards and unintentional injuries for industrial workers of the United States.
In Honor of National Safety Month, the SBA works to bring awareness to national and local resources available to small businesses to create and maintain safe work environments. Take a look at some useful resources here:- Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) website provides safety and health resources specifically designed for small businesses, as well as the Small Business Safety and Health Handbook.
- Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) website offers resources, workshops and trainings for employers and employees to learn more about workplace safety, worker's compensation insurance and workers rights, as well as a Guide to Workplace Safety and Health in Washington State.
- Idaho department of Labor website offers a variety of resources for both employers and employees. Visit Idaho Occupational and Health Consultation Program (OSHCon) for free occupational safety and health services to small businesses to help understand and follow the rules and regulations required by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
