November is our Friendsgiving Membership Luncheon, so we will be supporting two well deserved organizations during our luncheon. We also will be giving you a chamber update, with time for Q&A, and last but not least have a little fun with some chamber and member trivia (with a special guest).
We will support two vital businesses in our community—American Legion Post 91 and Helping Hands Food Bank.
American Legion Post 91 is a great support for our Veterans and their families in Skagit County. American Legion works with other services in Skagit County to find medical assistance, housing, food, and much more. They work hard to be a stronger voice for our beloved veterans, and we thank them for their hard work. There will be a "fill the boot" donation opportunity to support your local Veterans. So please bring cash or a check to help fill the boot for our local veterans.
Our second business Helping Hands Food Bank supports all residents in Skagit County. They are more than just a food bank; they are a solution center. They are a fantastic resource for people in need, and we would like to have your help to fill their tote with food and life essentials. The current needs are egg cartons, grocery bags, peanut butter, mac and cheese, kid-friendly soup (pop tops), chili, tuna, granola bars, oatmeal, cereal, and canned fruit. Life essential needs are laundry soap, shampoo & other hair products, body soap and body wash, cleaning supplies, disposable shavers, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products. Their urgent need is blankets, towels, socks, hats, gloves, sleeping bags.
Only this month, for every two items you donate to the Helping Hands Food Bank, you will get a free raffle ticket for the gift basket! Limited to 3 tickets.
We will also have a "Gratitude Table". Do you have a veteran or other hero group in the area you'd like to give thanks to? April Patterson is providing cards and pens to write a handwritten thank you note. She ensure they get delivered throughout the year.
