The Skagit Symphony's not-to-be-missed 40th Anniversary Season Grand Finale will peer into the future of the Skagit Symphony under the leadership of our new Music Director, Maestro Michael Böhnert Wheatley, and will feature an eclectic program exploring the spectrum of orchestral colors. Pulitzer-winning composer Jennifer Higdon’s towering Blue Cathedral will encircle McIntyre’s pristine acoustics, followed by guest artist Cristina Valdés treating us to Gershwin’s eternal favorite, Rhapsody in Blue. The season will conclude with a picture drawn from our own majestic landscape in Alan Hovhaness’ Mysterious Mountain, and a work for chorus, soloists, and orchestra from Bernstein’s Candide that’s sure to raise the roof of our great hall.
