• Birch Bay’s “Sand & Shine” Weekend: Sand Sculpture Competition & Rollback Weekend Car Show

  • Birch Bay, WA – The Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce invites the public to a sun-soaked weekend of family fun on July 26–27, featuring the 42nd Annual Sand Sculpture Competition, proudly presented by WECU, and the 11th Annual Rollback Weekend Car Show. These two beloved events combine artistry, nostalgia, and community celebration along the beautiful shores of Birch Bay.

    “This is our biggest event weekend of the summer,” said Sacha Sanguinetti, Event Coordinator at the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce. “The Birch Bay community is excited to welcome visitors from throughout the region, north and south of the border, for this annual celebration!”

    Sand Sculpture Competition

    Saturday, July 26 | 8 AM – 4 PM
    Sponsored by WECU, the Sand Sculpture Competition brings together families, teams, and solo sculptors to create incredible masterpieces from sand. Whether you're building or spectating, there’s something for everyone:

    • Live music from Whiplash Rodeo (11 AM–2 PM)
    • The crowd-favorite Big Bubble Show
    • Prizes for multiple categories

    Participation is free and open to all ages, with teams creating sculptures using only natural, biodegradable materials.

    WTA shuttle service will be available throughout the day to and from designated locations, making it easy for everyone to join the festivities.

     

     

    Rollback Weekend Car Show

    Sunday, July 27 | 8 AM – 3 PM
    The fun continues Sunday with the 11th Annual Rollback Weekend Car Show, featuring a stunning display of vintage and custom vehicles along the waterfront.

    • All makes and models welcome
    • Live performance by North Sound Soul (11 AM–2 PM)
    • Concessions and family-friendly activities
    • WTA shuttle service running throughout the day

    Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, grab a bite, and enjoy the vibrant energy of this classic Birch Bay tradition.

    Organized by the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce, the Sand Sculpture Competition and Rollback Weekend Car Show are two of the most anticipated summer traditions in the region, drawing thousands of participants and spectators each year.
