A beloved Burlington tradition is getting a new summer weekend.
As Berry Dairy Days prepares to celebrate its milestone 90th year, the Burlington Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the 2027 festival will move to the third weekend of July.
The 90th Annual Berry Dairy Days will take place Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18, 2027, continuing the festival's three-day format while bringing generations of Berry Dairy Days traditions together for a summer celebration in Burlington.
“Reaching the 90th year of Berry Dairy Days is something worth celebrating, and we are incredibly excited about what is ahead,” said Steph Rees, CEO of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. “This festival has grown and changed throughout its history because of the people who participate in it, volunteer for it, support it and come back year after year. Moving to July gives us an opportunity to build on everything our community already loves about Berry Dairy Days while creating even more possibilities for its future.”
The decision to move the festival from its longtime June weekend was made after considerable discussion with community partners, participants, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and others involved in producing the event, including Berry Dairy Days co-host the City of Burlington.
In recent years, the Chamber has experienced a continued decline in festival volunteer availability, with many volunteers and participants noting that the traditional June weekend had become increasingly difficult for their schedules. Feedback received through conversations surrounding the festival also showed growing support for exploring a later summer date.
While no date will work perfectly for everyone, Chamber leadership believes the move to July provides the strongest opportunity to support the volunteers, organizations, businesses and community members who make the festival possible while positioning Berry Dairy Days for continued success.
“Our responsibility is not simply to preserve Berry Dairy Days exactly as it has always been,” Rees said. “It is to make sure this tradition is here for the next generation. Sometimes honoring a tradition means allowing it to grow.”
And plenty of Berry Dairy Days tradition is coming with it.
The 2027 festival is expected to once again feature many community favorites, including the Grand Parade, Berry Dairy Days BBQ Challenge, Hot Air Balloon Glow, Pet Day and the B-E Kiwanis Salmon BBQ, along with food, vendors, entertainment, family activities and more throughout the three-day celebration.
Some returning events may also grow or look a little different as planning for the 90th anniversary continues.
Following the success of the Hot Air Balloon Glow introduced in 2026, organizers are already exploring opportunities with the balloon operator to expand the experience in 2027, including the possibility of a balloon landing at Skagit River Park before the evening Glow. Those discussions are preliminary, and additional details will be announced if plans are finalized.
The Chamber, together with the City of Burlington, also intends to continue its commitment to making Berry Dairy Days an accessible community celebration, with most of the festival activities and experiences remaining free to attend.
Planning the milestone anniversary is already underway, with additional announcements about entertainment, activities, sponsors, vendors and special 90th-year experiences coming throughout the months ahead.
“This is going to be a special year for Berry Dairy Days,” Rees said. “We have 90 years of memories behind us and an opportunity to create something really exciting together for the years ahead. We can't wait to welcome everyone to Burlington in July.”
The Burlington Chamber of Commerce and the City of Burlington invite the community to save the date for July 16–18, 2027, and follow Berry Dairy Days throughout the coming year as plans for the 90th anniversary celebration are announced.
