Bringing Knowledge Back to Burlington

My Continued Journey with the U.S. Chamber Institute for Organization Management

President & CEO, Stephanie Rees, completed her second year at Institute for Organization Management

Dear Burlington Chamber Members,

I am excited to share some personal and professional news with you. This summer, I had the privilege of completing my second year at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management at the Northeast Institute in Villanova, Pennsylvania. This four-year program is designed to strengthen nonprofit and chamber leaders through intensive training in leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance, membership, and organizational development.

The Institute is recognized nationwide for producing leaders who are equipped to better serve their communities. As Raymond Towle, the U.S. Chamber’s Vice President of Institute for Organization Management, shared, “Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations. These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries.”

For me, this journey is more than just professional development—it’s about bringing new skills and ideas back to Burlington and Skagit County. Every session I attend helps me discover fresh ways to strengthen our Chamber, support our members, and advocate for the success of our local businesses and community.

Since its start in 1921, the Institute has educated tens of thousands of leaders like myself, with the goal of helping organizations like ours run more efficiently and effectively. The training is both rigorous and inspiring, and it continually fuels my passion for ensuring that the Burlington Chamber is an essential partner for you—our members, businesses, schools, and community leaders.

I look forward to continuing this journey with two more years ahead and to bringing back even more tools, knowledge, and connections that will benefit all of you.

Thank you for trusting me and our Chamber team to serve as your advocate and resource. Together, we are building a stronger Burlington and a brighter future.

With gratitude,
Stephanie Rees
