As we plan for the future, the Burlington Chamber of Commerce is developing a new three-year strategic plan to better serve our members and Burlington’s business community. We invite you to help shape that future by participating in the Burlington Chamber Business Vision Survey.

Setting the Stage for a Stronger Business Community

The Burlington Chamber of Commerce is entering a critical and exciting chapter built on partnership, advocacy, and a renewed commitment to supporting the businesses that make Burlington thrive. As our local economy evolves and businesses face new challenges, the Chamber is strengthening its role as a connector, problem-solver, and champion for our business community.

Our vision is clear: to be the driving force for business success, community connection, and regional growth across Burlington and the Skagit Valley. We are committed to building a responsive, business-focused Chamber that listens intently, acts boldly, and turns challenges into opportunities.

Business owners are the heartbeat of Burlington. You are the job creators, innovators, and community anchors who fuel our local economy. Yet we know that many businesses are navigating staffing shortages, increased costs, regulatory barriers, and shifting customer trends. That’s why we want to stand beside you, amplify your voice, and help your business thrive.

Q: Why the Burlington Chamber Exists

  • To support small businesses by offering real solutions, not just events.
  • To elevate your voice through strong partnerships with city, county, and state leaders.
  • To strengthen business-to-business connections that lead to shared problem-solving and new opportunities.
  • To champion Burlington’s identity as a vibrant place to live, work, shop, and visit.
  • To grow the local workforce pipeline by building partnerships with schools and employers.
  • To promote Burlington as a dynamic destination through strategic tourism, storytelling, and community pride.

Q: What We Are Building — A Chamber for Today and Tomorrow

Over the next three years, the Burlington Chamber of Commerce is committed to becoming the leading voice for business success in the Skagit Valley. This means:

  • A Stronger Advocacy Role
    • Leading conversations with local and state agencies.
    • Streamlining processes that directly impact your business.
    • Ensuring Burlington’s business voice is heard where decisions are made.
  • A More Connected Business Community
    • Peer groups and roundtables for shared problem-solving.
    • More targeted training and professional development opportunities.
    • Events and programs that strengthen relationships and create opportunities.
  • A Vibrant Community & Visitor Experience
    • A Visitor Information Center that serves as a cultural and historical hub.
    • Year-round marketing that tells Burlington’s story and drives economic activity.
    • Signature events like Berry Dairy Days that evolve into self-sustaining community celebrations.
  • A Future-Ready Workforce
    • Partnerships with the Burlington-Edison School District and regional employers.
    • Programs that help students see a future career right here at home.

Q: Why the Survey Is Critical

The Burlington Chamber Business Visioning Project is a coordinated effort to understand the real experiences, priorities, and needs of the businesses who are the economic drivers in our community. This is not just a survey—it’s a foundational step in building a stronger, more connected, and more resilient business community for the next decade and beyond.

The survey is the first significant step in building this shared vision. It will help us:

  • Identify common themes and prioritize the needs of our business community
  • Understand the gaps in current services and support
  • Guide future investments, advocacy efforts, and partnerships
  • Set clear goals for strengthening engagement, awareness, and business success

This survey is your chance to influence Burlington’s direction in a meaningful and lasting way. Your honest and thoughtful input is invaluable. The stronger and more diverse the voices we hear, the better the resulting strategy will be.
